Configuration Instructions
Follow these step-by-step instructions to properly configure your ShoreTel to work with CallData:
| 1. | Login to ShoreWare Director and navigate to Reporting > Options. Take note of the value in the "Retention Period for CDR Data (1-2000)" field. This is the amount of historical data that ShoreTel will save in it's internal database. The default value is 125 days. However, your value might have been changed. After installation, CallData automatically imports all of the historical data from the ShoreTel's internal database. However, CallData will only be able to import historical data that actually exists in the ShoreTel's database. Setting this value to a higher number will not allow you extend the amount of history CallData can import. Once the number of days specified has passed, that data is automatically deleted from the internal ShoreTel database by the phone system. This will only cause the phone system to store historical data for the specified number of days from the point in time that you change the retention period. If you make any modifications to the retention period setting, make sure you click the Save button to apply the changes. |
The retention period determines the amount of historical data CallData will be able to import from you ShoreTel. |
Note: For additional information on setting the ShoreTel's Retention Period settings, please refer to your phone system's documentation.
| 2. | Obtain or create a username & password for CallData to use that has at least read-only access to the ShoreTel's internal MySQL database. ShoreTel does provide a default account for with sufficient access to it's internal database. Below is a table with the default values CallData typically uses to connect to the ShoreTel's internal database. This account & password is created by the ShoreTel system. |
Parameter |
Default Value |
|---|---|
Host |
N/A |
Port |
3306 |
Username |
st_cdrreport |
Password |
passwordcdrreport |
Database Name |
shorewarecdr |
If these values do not work, you will need to manually create a MySQL login for CallData. This account will need permissions to select data from the "Call" and "Connect" tables in the database that contains the ShoreTel's CDR records.
| 3. | Download and install the MySQL 5.1 ODBC Connector from http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/5.1.html on the computer with the CallData service. Without this connector, CallData will not be able to import any data from your phone system. |
Some reports may display missing or no data at all, depending on the phone system CallData is collecting data from. This is a result of non-standardized formats & different data being used across the wide spectrum of supported phone systems.
Reports utilizing the following information are not currently compatible with data from ShoreTel phone systems:
| • | Call Queue's |
| • | Abandoned Calls |
